13th Annual Garden Luncheon

This event is no longer on sale.

Friday June 10

11:00 AM  –  3:00 PM

Join us for the 13th Annual Garden Luncheon at the Florence Griswold Museum.

Come support the stewardship and preservation of the Museum's historic gardens and riverside landscape while enjoying the company of friends and members as we return to the tent for our annual garden luncheon.

Our guest speaker this year is author Marta McDowell, author of Unearthing The Secret Garden: The Plants & Places That Inspired Frances Hodgson Burnett. Ms. McDowell has made a career of exploring the relationship between the pen and the trowel...that is, writers and their gardens. The subjects of her lavishly-illustrated, award-winning books have included Beatrix Potter, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and Emily Dickinson. You won't want to miss this enchanting exploration of the gardening inspirations behind one of literature's greatest treasures, which will surely inspire you to unlock the secret magic in your own garden.
