Rachel Beth Sayet or Akitusut (She Who Reads) is a member of the Mohegan nation. Raised with the spirits of her ancestors, she grew up learning traditional stories and teachings and participating in tribal events. She holds a degree in Restaurant Management from Cornell and a Masters in Anthropology from Harvard.
Join Sayet as she leads a cooking demonstration and dialogue on modern indigenous food in New England. The talk will cover Native foodways and preserving traditional knowledge around seasonal eating, harvesting, growing, and fishing practices.
