Meet the Wyeths: A Family of American Artists
with Amanda C. Burdan, Ph.D., Senior Curator, Brandywine Museum of Art
$75 (Members 10% Discount)
Each week this short course, presented via ZOOM, will focus on a different member of the multi-generational Wyeth family of artists. Often considered out of step with the mainstream of the American art world, each for various reasons, the Wyeths maintained their staunch independence from the passing stylistic movements of the twentieth century. A look into the lives and careers of these five artists explores the ways in which each coped with their struggles, from the stigma of illustration, to gender-based discrimination, to the shadows cast by famous relatives.
Amanda C. Burdan, Ph.D. is the Senior Curator at the Brandywine Art Museum. Prior to her appointment, she was the Associate Curator at Florence Griswold Museum, when she hosted several sell-out Winter Studies courses. Welcome back (virtually) Amanda!
Sessions will be recorded and available for all purchasers to access at a later time should they not be able to watch live.
