Dr. Mark J. Schenker, Senior Associate Dean and Dean of Academic Affairs in Yale College

Mark Schenker of Yale College returns to FloGris to extend his How to Read a Film approach to five films—from four different countries and spanning over 70 years—

that engage dreams and memories as both theme and technique. Ranging in genre

from drama and mystery to horror, fantasy, and science fiction, these movies

engage the imagined elements of our lives (which include memories, in that they are

necessarily reconstructed and imaged when they are recalled) as well as dreams

and, indeed, the art of cinema itself.
